Published in Blog on June 10, 2024 by Article V Patriot

Convention of States grassroots supporters are turning out in droves to champion Article V as COS takes America by storm. To stay up to date about our relentless legislative advocacy and efforts to spread the word about Article V, tune in weekly to COS NOW, a video recap highlighting the most significant COS-related news of the week. Alternatively, catch up on these updates right here on the COS blog.

1. WATCH: Sen. Santorum reveals why Congress is out of control

During a recent appearance on The National Desk, former United States Senator and Convention of States Senior Advisor Rick Santorum helped shed light on why he and thousands of Americans support the Article V movement to rein in the federal government.

“I spent 16 years in Congress [and] ran for president a couple of times,” said the Pennsylvania lawmaker. “It seemed increasingly clear to me that Washington was growing bigger and bigger, and more and more out of control, spending-wise.”

2. Michigan Eyes Movement to Call an Article V Convention and Rein in D.C. Corruption

“I would say, the old adage that we’ve all heard, the only thing necessary for evil to win in the world is for good men and women to do nothing,” said one COS supporter in a recent Michigan TV special about Convention of States. “We’re drawing a line in the sand; we’re not going any farther.”

3. Yvette Herrell on COS at Home

Convention of States endorser and former U.S. representative from New Mexico Yvette Herrell appeared on the latest edition of COS at Home, where she applauded the Article V grassroots movement.

4. Mark Meckler, Ben Shapiro react to TRUMP VERDICT

In an unprecedented verdict, former United States President and 2024 White House hopeful Donald Trump was found guilty by a New York jury of all 34 felony charges in his hush-money trial. Accused of falsifying business records and violating campaign finance laws, the now-convicted felon awaits his sentencing, which is expected to occur by June 13 and may result in the presumptive GOP nominee being placed in jail.

5. What is the Emerging Leaders Program?

Applications for the 2024-2025 Convention of States’ Emerging Leaders internship are officially open, and former intern leaders Reagan and Faith Green are asking, ‘What is the Emerging Leaders Program?’ And, ‘What sets this internship apart from the rest?’
