Montana Sen. Tom McGillvray initially stumbled upon the Article V concept in 2009, and after deep research and understanding, he now views it as a critical mechanism to address pressing issues facing the United States.
McGillvray believes that the Convention of States movement is a practical and effective solution to the country's problems, noting the power behind the grassroots. States' role as a check on federal power is vital, which is why educating legislators and the public about this process is so crucial.
"The states are really the last check on federal power, and if we don't exercise that power, I don't believe that Congress will change. They are undisciplined and they will not discipline themselves, in the words of Ronald Reagan," he warned.
