The talking heads in the mainstream media are making much of the fact that the Democratic establishment only gave Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez one minute to speak at last night's Democratic National Convention.
But they also let her speak in prime time and on the same night as former President Bill Clinton, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, and Democratic Chairman Tom Perez. As Mark Meckler, predicted earlier this week, Democrats signaled that Ocasio-Cortez is the future of the party, and they gave her a massive platform on which to push her agenda.
And that agenda should concern liberty-loving Americans from coast to coast.
Rather than moderate her message in anticipation of Joe Biden's supposedly moderate platform, Ocasio-Cortez doubled-down on the most radical socialist proposals in our country today.
Here's are a few of the things she promised to pursue as a co-chair of Biden's climate panel:
- Guaranteed healthcare: This would decimate the health care marketplace in the United States, eliminate private insurance for hundreds of millions of Americans, increase taxes nationwide, lower the standard of care, and prohibit American parents from making some decisions about the healthcare of their kids.
- Guaranteed higher education: Think the public school system is healthy and effective at the primary and secondary school levels? How about we take the inefficiencies and incompetence of that system and implement them in higher education? This proposal would also increase taxes and lower the standards of education for our college students.
- Guaranteed living wages: AKA a "universal basic income," this policy would pay people not to work, making them nothing more than serfs of the federal government.
- Green New Deal: Ocasio-Cortez didn't mention this by name, but her climate agenda as the co-chair of Biden's climate panel seeks to use climate change to radically restructure our economic system.
Even if President Trump wins in November, all of these policies could be in our future if we fail to call an Article V Convention of States. The socialist movement is growing, and we must erect constitutional firewalls against the big-government socialist agenda.
A Convention of States is called by 34 states and is attended by all 50 states. At this convention, the states can propose constitutional amendments that limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints on Congress, and mandate term limits for federal officials.
These amendments are ratified by 38 states after the convention, and they can shrink the size and scope of federal power to such an extent that a socialist takeover is virtually impossible. They can eliminate federal agencies, slash the budgets of existing agencies, and restore decision-making power to the states and the people.
Already, 15 states have responded to the socialist threat by calling an Article V Convention of States. Over four million Americans have joined them, and our ranks are growing daily. Will you be next? Sign the petition below to join!
