Big-government socialists have taken full control of the progressive wing of the Democratic party. Now they're looking to take over the entire party, and this year's Democratic National Convention may mark the beginning of that coup.
Mark Meckler told Newsmax that Democratic-Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be leading the charge.
"AOC represents the wing of the party that has the most energy," he said. "She's the person to be watching. She's driving policy on the ground in the Democratic party."
We have to build a firewall against socialism before it's too late, and the best way to do that is via an Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments. These amendments can prohibit big-government socialist policies by limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government as a whole.
They can, for example, prohibit the federal government from spending money on anything within state jurisdiction. They can restore the teeth of the Commerce Clause by limiting congressional spending to true interstate commerce, and they can limit the Supreme Court's activist interpretation of the General Welfare clause.
These amendments can, in other words, limit federal power to such an extent that socialist policies are clearly and unequivocally unconstitutional.
