Again, Congress has thrown money to large corporations.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act includes several duplicative, wasteful, and unnecessary programs, including providing large companies with $2.5 billion for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
These large companies have always influenced Washington for their own benefit but at our cost.
There are two primary flaws in this program.
One is that the provision of EV charging facilities is the private sector's responsibility, which is better equipped to handle this investment. It would be done to meet the demand. This undue interference in the private sector is unjustified and unproductive.
The second flaw is that establishment of EV infrastructure is not paid for by all Americans, regardless of their need. The people of Michigan need not pay for charging stations in New York or California. And, what about those of us who cannot afford an EV? Are we expected to pay for something we will never use?
