Viral ‘Don’t Tread On Me’ kid STRIKES BACK

Published in Blog on October 03, 2023 by Jakob Fay

“Not every 12-year-old spends his weekends doing speaking engagements, but Jaiden Rodriguez has been in demand ever since he refused to remove his Gadsden flag patch at school,” The Washington Times reported.

Back in August, young Jaiden Rodriguez, a seventh-grade student from Colorado, became an overnight sensation when he bravely stood up for freedom after being removed from his classroom for wearing the “Don’t Tread On Me” flag on his backpack. An undercover, viral video captured a school administrator berating Jaiden and his mom for the flag, which the school claimed, incorrectly, shared “origins with slavery and slave trade.”

Following significant public outcry, the school eventually reversed its decision, permitting Jaiden to once again proudly wear the flag. However, Jaiden's meteoric rise to fame didn't stop there.

According to The Washington Times, Jaiden recently made an appearance at a Remnant Revolution story hour event, during which he read his peers a copy of actor Kevin Sorbo’s new book, “The Test of Lionhood.” Published by BRAVE Books, Sorobo’s book promotes a lesson of courage targeted at kids.

“I am so encouraged by Jaiden Rodriguez,” Sorbo said. “This young man truly embodies the lesson in my book. My hope for this young man is that he continues to take a stand and continues giving his all to the cause of truth. Unfortunately, the truth is under attack, and we need younger heroes to stand up and protect it.”

When one attendee asked Jaiden why he is interested in history, he answered that the citizens of a country have a responsibility to know that country’s history. He also expressed interest in one day running for governor or president.

“I just like to support kids in getting knowledge,” he added. “I like this book because it talks about bravery, and I’m just glad they’re here to listen to me, that they’re hearing about how to be brave.”

This courageous young boy’s story reminds us that when we, like Jaiden, stand up for our values and refuse to let the naysayers tread on us, we, too, can become inspiring voices that encourage others to never give up.

“I’m a grandma who has lived my life knowing freedom,” said Linda White, the event organizer. “I’ve been very worried that my grandkids will have the same freedoms I have had but Jaiden gives me hope. Brave young kids like him give me hope that our freedom will continue on in this country. His bravery is an example that to continue living with freedom we must all be brave like this young man. He is quite an inspiration.”

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
