VICTORY for pro-life father arrested by Biden’s DOJ

Published in Blog on January 31, 2023 by Jakob Fay

Last year, Mark Houc, an everyday pro-life father of seven, was arrested by Joe Biden’s renegade Department of Justice for protesting outside of an abortion clinic. Houc runs a nonprofit anti-abortion group and was providing counseling at the time of his “crime.” On Monday, Houc, who faced up to 11 years in prison, was acquitted.

Last September, Convention of States Action reported that an armed FBI SWAT team had conducted an early morning raid, barging into Houc’s private home, rifles in a firing position to arrest the 48-year-old dad while his seven children looked on. Houc was not armed or dangerous. He had not resisted arrest. In fact, a state court had already dismissed the case against Houc months earlier.

Joe Biden and his attorney general Merrick Garland were criticized for sending 25 to 35 armed agents seemingly to make a political point.

“The use of excessive force is an act of violence. Violence committed for a political purpose is called “terrorism.” The Biden administration is a terrorist regime. It’s that simple,” tweeted one pro-life journalist.

“If he was truly a danger to the community, they wouldn’t have waited a year to prosecute," said Houc’s attorney. "Serious questions need to be asked of the attorney general. What was he thinking? Why did they do this obscene show of force against a peaceful pillar of the community?"

“This is a political prosecution," he concluded. "And what’s clear from the Department of Justice at its highest levels, which is directing this case, [is] that they are trying to send a message to pro-life and people of faith: ‘Don’t mess with us.’ They want to intimidate — they want to cause good people like Mark to stop praying and counseling at the abortion clinics of our country. And that’s not going to happen."

Thankfully, Mark Houc’s acquittal marks both a victory for free Americans and a defeat for Biden’s repressive abuse of government power. But it isn’t enough. Biden is dead set on using institutions of power and justice to persecute his political opponents — and he must be stopped.

With an Article V Convention of States, which was granted to us by our Founding Fathers, we can end federal tyranny and rein in Biden’s renegade DOJ. To show your support for limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, imposing fiscal restraints, and placing term limits on federal officials, thereby mitigating the D.C. Swamp’s ability to target everyday Americans, sign the Convention of States petition below!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
