FBI SWAT team arrests pro-life father of seven for the “crime” of protecting his son

Published in Blog on September 26, 2022 by Jakob Fay

Joe Biden and his attorney general Merrick Garland have made one thing clear: everyday Americans who stand in the way of the radical Left are the greatest threat to our country. Biden has no problem with taking extreme measures (that is to say, wielding the FBI) to stop people like you and me from… doing what exactly?

It’s not entirely clear why the president and his cohorts are so scared of middle America or why Biden won’t stop rambling about the apparently very concerning rise in "extremism." If anything is getting out of hand in this country, it isn’t the patriots at your local tea party or the moms at a school board meeting–it’s the government’s unhinged response to those people.

Week after week, new stories surface about the overdramatic–yet no less serious–steps the president is taking on his journey to becoming, well, quite frankly… an authoritarian. And after the latest story, I can reasonably say we’ve hit an all-time low.

Last week, an armed FBI SWAT team reportedly conducted an early morning raid, barging into a private home, rifles in a firing position to arrest… a dad. Not a terrorist dad. Not a dad with a terrible criminal record. No, just a dad. A pro-life dad.

A pro-life dad whose seven children were in the home at the time and witnessed the terrifying events.

His crime?

According to The Daily Wire, “[Mark] Houck [the pro-life dad] was providing sidewalk counseling at abortion centers in Philadelphia last year, and had taken his then 12-year-old son. On multiple occasions. . . a “pro-abortion protestor” allegedly shouted vulgarities and insults at the boy. Houck repeatedly told the protestor not to speak to his son, but the protestor continued to encroach on the boy’s personal space, still spewing vulgarities. Finally, Houck shoved the man away, causing him to fall down. The protestor was not injured, but tried to sue Houck.”

No big deal, right? The court case (which really should be of no concern to the federal government) was dismissed earlier this year and the Houck family moved on.

But that’s when Merrick Garland got involved–which begs the question: does the Department of Justice really have the time to be investigating cases of pushing and shoving? Are 25 to 35 armed agents really necessary to bring in a dad whose only crime was standing up for his son? Should we expect SWAT teams to start showing up every time a dad gets into a little scuffle?

As Mark Houck’s wife tweeted, “[t]he use of excessive force is an act of violence. Violence committed for a political purpose is called “terrorism.” The Biden administration is a terrorist regime. It’s that simple.”

Stories like these can make it feel like the federal government is too far gone. But now is the time for action, not hopelessness.

By calling for an Article V Convention of States we can stop escalating authoritarianism in its tracks and keep the federal government from barging into our lives and homes. To show your support, sign the COS petition below!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
