This issue of The Peach State Patriot features COS University. This is your one-stop-shop to receive in-depth training on Article V of the Constitution and the Convention of States movement. You will find courses on Constitutional Literacy, as well as COS' background, history and mission.
The Resources Section will take you to the COS Center where you will find videos on why our Framers inserted Article V into the Constitution, how Article V works, COS activities explained in more detail and much more.
For all our petition signers who are not yet volunteers, we hope the University enlightens and energizes you to join the movement in an active role. No matter what your skills or interests, there is a place for you to make a difference in our country's future, and also make some great new, lasting friendships along the way. We hope to see you soon.
The community came together to celebrate Constitution Day at Augusta University on September 17th. The organizer was David Kearns. He works at the university library as the Sr. Assistant for Reference and Government Information. Readers from the community itself included law enforcement, teachers, students and guests.
It was my pleasure to attend this event. I hope it will become an annual celebration across the country to remind "We the People" of our freedom to seek and enjoy both our life and our liberty.
Friday October 15th thru Sunday October 17th is the 22nd annual Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival at J.F. Gregory Park, Richmond Hill, Ga. This is one of the largest seafood festivals in the southeast and Region 1 will have a booth there. Vickie Rommel signed the Convention of States petition back in June of this year and signed up as a volunteer the same day. When her Regional Captain, Don Gardner (Region 1) found out all the techy things Vicky was good at, he immediately thought of the Systems Analyst role and discussed the position with her. Vickie applied for the role, and there has been no stopping her since.
Vickie approaches COS with a "whatever I can do to help" attitude. Immediately after training, Vickie took on database cleanup, giving SIA Jon Lapp a much-needed break. At one point Jon went to work on the database and was shocked and relieved by how much Vickie had accomplished in such a short time.
Vickie has been a wonderful addition to the team. She is willing to learn and take on additional tasks. Her help has been fundamental in helping the state teams keep up with the surge of new petition signers, our state and the country have seen, over the past few weeks. Her hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. Thank you Vickie for all you do. Give a big shout-out to Vickie at vickie.rommel@cosaction.com
