Every four years we hear the refrain, “This is the most important election of our lifetime.” Perhaps that sentiment is true. If it is true, it became true for two sad reasons.
- Constitutional voters failed to consider EVERY election (primary, local, and federal official election) as a duty we must decide to perform in order to weigh our choices for elected officials. It is a solemn duty of a free people to choose out from among ourselves worthy officials to temporarily loan our sovereign voice. This freedom to choose our officials to represent us is the joyful duty most of population of the world has never known. All over the world people live and have lived in bondage to the whims of kings and dictators who are only concerned with retaining their power and authority.
- Constitutional voters have allowed the federal government to assume powers beyond their enumerated powers enshrined in our Constitution. As the power and jurisdiction of the federal government gradually grew, federal elections began to develop greater significance than state and local elections. While everyone knows who is running for President, most people do not care to know who is running to become their state representative or local official. They have concluded that the only races that matter are for the office of President and Congress because in DC is where all the decisions are made.
We must realize that every election permits sovereign citizens to entrust their voices with elected officials (NOT LEADERS.)This is a sacred trust that we should not practice so lightly. Perhaps if we all had treated every election with reverent duty, this election would not be the “most important of our lifetime.”
Using Article V of this Constitution, we intend to bring power and jurisdiction back to the state and local levels of governance. Every election will still be the most important of our lives, but at local levels we will be more able to hold our officials accountable.
Who decides? We will decide, not Washington DC!
