I love to write about my ancestors. They came to the North American colony of Massachusetts to escape an oppressive British King and Parliament. Many of them were pioneers.
One of my fifth great-grandfathers was a gentleman named Zadock Woods, who was born in Massachusetts in the year of our Lord, 1773.
To defend against numerous native American attacks, Zadock constructed Fort Woods, located just west of St. Louis, Missouri. At one time, the fort was commanded by Lt. Zachary Taylor, a future U.S. President.
Zadock joined the U.S. Rangers, a horse-mounted band of Missouri volunteers, under the command of one of Daniel Boone’s sons, Nathan Boone.
Captain Nathan Boone and his band of brothers fought in the Battle of New Orleans on January 8, 1815. They fought under the command of General Andrew Jackson.
It’s such a small world. I now live in Lafayette, Louisiana and as a member of Convention of States, I am following in my great-grandfather’s footsteps in a fight to save this nation.
Article V of the U.S. Constitution is the tool of choice. It’s a peaceful solution to an oppressive government. You too can help. Visit conventionofstates.com and sign the petition, letting your state legislators know that you want Louisiana to be part of a convention to propose amendments to limit the scope and power of the federal government.
Help us return to self-governance and return the power to the states. Let’s stop overspending and impose term limits. Join fellow patriots by signing the petition today.
