The Convention of States Idaho Grassroots Army launched its 2018 campaign with special guest Senator Jim DeMint.
Sept 18, 2017 Boise, Idaho
Senator Jim DeMint couldn't remember the last time he was in Idaho, but he didn't waste any time getting to work as he spoke to Idahoans on the importance of the Article V Convention of States movement and how it can be a tool to secure our faith, our families, our land, and our freedom from an overreaching federal government.

No Government Restraint
Having seen both sides of government as a former Senator that willfully limited his time there, Jim DeMint knows there is no room for negotiation:
They're never going to give up their power that they've taken from the states. They've taken away the right of states to design their own education programs; they're trying to run our schools. They're trying to run our healthcare system. They're very involved with infrastructure. They control a lot of the federal lands that really is over one-third of the landmass of the U.S. And just like we've heard here, just trying to farm or ranch - they're all into your business in all kinds of ways. It doesn't make sense.
Senator DeMint urged Idahoans to not stand idly by as the federal government continues to grab at power.
"We need to stop just complaining about it and do something. And we found that just sending good people to Washington isn't going to fix it....If now is not the time for states to step up to the plate, I don't know when is."
