Rally For Our Rights Manasota II

Published in Blog on October 03, 2018 by Keith Bessette

On September 22, in Sarasota Florida’s Bayfront Park, a rally was held in support of the right to bear arms.

The Emcee was Captain Matt Bruce, host of the “Captain’s America Radio Show.” Five Convention of States Florida volunteers set up a booth and discussed an Article V convention to propose amendments with attendees, sharing a way to resolve the federal government’s unconstitutional infringements on our right to protect ourselves.

The demonstration was a peaceful, positive, and patriotic exercise of the right of freedom of speech to defend the right to bear arms.

The event was sponsored by volunteer citizens from the local gun community. All who support the Second Amendment were welcomed. Approximately 400 people attended.

Capt. Matt said “The passion displayed by the attendees is shared by many across America who are watching our rights disappear right in front of our eyes. We the people are coming to the voting booths across America on election day.”

Larry Jewett of Convention of States Florida said, “Events are super-energizing for me, especially when I can have stimulating conversations and see the lightbulb light.”

The COS team included Dean Gerber, Mitchell Joubert, Howard Boothroyd, and Lois Jewett. Nineteen people signed the COS petition, and three new volunteers joined the project. COS Citizen’s Guides, palm card information sheets, and pocket Constitutions were also distributed.

Attendees included members of the “Bikers For Trump” group and a veteran’s organization, who came out to support the Second Amendment. State Senator Greg Steube and U.S. Congressional candidate George Buck addressed the crowd.
