Push for Vaccine Mandate Begins: "Idiot Percentage of the Population Needs to be Told What To Do"

Published in Blog on July 27, 2021 by Article V Patriot

Get ready: the push for a nationwide vaccine mandate is coming.

As states see a rise in COVID cases, the "elites" in government and media have already begun using the surge as an excuse to exercise power over Americans who supposedly don't know enough to make their own decisions.

That mindset was on full display during a recent segment of the popular left-wing MSNBC show, "Morning Joe."

Donny Deutsch, a frequent MSNBC contributor and pundit, blasted those who have refused to get the vaccine as "idiots" who "just need to be told what to do."

“I’m done worrying about what people think. I’m done worrying about, ‘Is there going to be a firestorm?’” he continued. “Whether it’s a mandated mask or a mandated vaccine, there’s an idiot percentage of this population that just needs to be told what to do. And guess what? You don’t have a choice. Too bad.”

Americans have become so accustomed to government mandates, he continued, that a nationwide mask mandate won't be as difficult to institute moving forward.

“I think it was a lot harder the first time around … creating new behavior versus returning to, kind of, behavior we’ve already been through,” he said. “So look, whether it’s a mandated mask, a mandated vaccine is, at this point, there is a percentage of the population that — who cares whether they’re angry or upset about it? There’s 330 million people in this country. We need to protect ourselves.”

This line of thinking has totally infected the federal government, but it didn't start with COVID-19. For years, our "betters" in Washington, D.C., have believed they know what's best for us, and they've used the awesome power of the federal government to impose their will on We the People.

Deutsch and his friends at MSNBC might think the American people are ready to lie down and submit, but we have the facts to prove them wrong. In poll after poll, Americans have voiced their opposition to federal mandates and their belief in their own judgment when it comes to COVID-19.

In June, we found that 64% of Americans believe parents should make their own decisions about vaccinating their children. Only 15% say the federal government.

Later that month, 63% of Americans said the government should take no action to address new COVID variants. Instead, citizens should be trusted to respond on their own.

Just last week, a full 72% of Americans rejected a vaccine mandate in favor of personal choice. That includes 87% of Republicans, 67% of Independents, and 59% of Democrats.

Don't believe the federal government and their allies in the mainstream media. We the People will still fight for our freedom, which is why over 5 million Americans have voiced support for the Convention of States movement.

Only an Article V Convention of States can build a permanent firewall against federal overreach. A Convention is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments that limit federal power, restrict federal spending, and impose term limits on federal officials. With this complete package of amendments in place, our "leaders" in Washington will be unable to implement their authoritarian agenda, and they'll be forced to return to their proper role in our democratic republic: our public servants.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
