Pete faces his first confirmation hearing on Tuesday, even as certain members of Congress seek to delay his appointment. Senator Elizabeth Warren, for example, wrote an open letter to the Fox News host, questioning “your qualifications to serve in this role given your past history.” However, we believe these concerns are unfounded and urge you to support Pete's confirmation.
“Unfortunately, Democrat lawmakers are already plotting to oppose Pete because he isn’t ‘qualified enough,’” Convention of States President Mark Meckler wrote in a letter to the grassroots. “That’s almost laughable.”
“Leaders like our current Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, have set the bar so low that Pete would have to crawl to squeeze through!” Meckler added. “Pete would raise the bar of military excellence, restore confidence in our armed forces, and defend American interests at home and abroad.”
Pete Hegseth may not be your typical Washington bureaucrat, but that’s what qualifies him to lead the DOD. He will bring his deep love for our country and years of military experience to the office to ensure our men in uniform are strong, respected, and safe.
Congress needs to know that “We the People” stand behind Pete. Support his confirmation by contacting your Senators and making your voice heard.
