The California Convention of States grassroots is made up of amazing people who often fill in and serve where needed, with a joyful spirit and a giving heart. This is especially true of servant leader Rusty Moon.
You will be excused if you don't recognize the name Rusty Moon. In classic servant leader fashion, Rusty oftentimes chooses to operate in the background. As a result, you may be far better acquainted with the other half of the Moon dynamic duo team, Alison, who works tirelessly as California's State Grassroots Coordinator (SGC).
A veteran and grassroots patriot, Rusty understands well what it is that the COS organization is fighting for. His dedication and faithful support of Alison in everything she is doing for the COS effort has not gone unnoticed. Rusty is at every event Alison attends, willingly taking on any task asked of him and constantly looking for how he can be of service at those events. His support of Alison in all that she does has earned him a reputation as someone who can be counted on to look after the cause of Liberty.
As Alison tells it, "Rusty allows me the time needed to complete my role as SGC. Set up and take down of district meetings and COS events, even security for state strategy. He accepts Tele Patriot missions and will make phone calls when asked. His greatest contribution for COS is at petition tables. He can start an Article V conversation with anyone. He ignites the patriot flame in others."
At the Western States Regional Summit held in mid September 2023, Rusty was awarded the Convention of States Patriot Pin. For those who may not be familiar with this award, it is given in recognition of extraordinary leadership, service to others, and a demonstrated volunteer spirit -- in short, all the things Convention of States looks for in its grassroots volunteers.
Congratulations patriot Rusty Wayne Moon!
