One Man's COS Journey

Published in Blog on April 18, 2023 by Brian Eakin

I had the pleasure of meeting a man of impeccable patience and a strong will to find an avenue to restrain our federal government and complete the mission of Convention of States in Michigan.

George Moorman has given over 4 years of his time and efforts in various roles within Michigan COS. George joined Conventions of States in 2018 and was inducted into the role of District Captain after hearing a speech given by Bill Pacey. He has attended many high-level meetings with the national leaders and is considered by many in COS Michigan as a steadfast friend and proponent of our mission.

While still retaining the role of District Captain, George has also taken on the task of lead State Information Analyst (SIA). This position has a wide range of aspects working with computer data and functions. George is the help desk resource for using the COS MI website. He teaches and records a tech class to aid volunteers in using the site function to complete their assigned roles more efficiently.

George is currently verifying the COSMI Petition Page. Given the importance of this file and the excessive work that needs to be done to verify each name and address, George expressed a heartfelt desire to have at least seven full-time SIAs. Without the political power inherent in a valid petition, our efforts to steer our local Representative toward restraining our Federal Government will most likely fail.

The work does not end there as the petition must be reviewed continuously to maintain its validity. The SIA group also needs to be able to man phone calls by volunteers looking to push our agenda forward but have a problem with the web access tools.

In his own words, George relates the passion that drives his actions.

“In the 1600s there were people that made a treacherous journey to a distant place in search of freedom.

In the 1700s their descendants were tired of the overburdensome control which the government was exerting on them so they committed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to seek freedom, again. According to history, most of them lost their fortunes and families but held onto their sacred honor.

In the 1800s and 1900s members of my family fought in several wars in the name of freedom. Some lost their lives; some gave their time. They gave something.

IN SERVICE

There are lots of great platitudes. My why? Like those before me, I serve. To honor them, I serve. To provide for my family, I serve. To help clear a path for future generations, I serve.

Engaging in COS is another part of my life. I like to help people. Using the hands and brain that God gave me to help others lifts my soul. I do not like wasting my time if that is no benefit. That said, I help as long as I see a benefit, even if they don't. I do what I can while I can. When the time comes, I will move on to help others.”

I found that George Moorman is the equivalent of a Minute Man of the latest American revolution to protect our wealth and personal freedoms. The aristocratic-minded persons currently investing in the positions of the federal government have styled themselves in the model of King George of England and the sycophants who supported him.

George Moorman stands as a citizen official who serves in the difficult act of governance as a public servant who gives of their time and then returns to the ranks of the people they served.

To win the new Constitutional Revival Movement without the tragic loss of life experienced in the American Revolution, we must proceed with a dedication to the United States Constitution and the values and tools enshrined in that document.

George and the people of the Convention of States need your assistance as a citizen volunteer for COS Michigan, regardless of your political, religious, or personal views to stop the outrageous abuses by the federal government which are repugnant to the restraints encoded in the United States Constitution.

Volunteer opportunities span a wide range of skills and time requirements. Begin by signing the petition and when you are ready, choose to volunteer. Meet George, and those like him, who work daily to free us from a tyrannical government.
