Convention of States: An American Principle and an Inalienable Right

Published in Blog on December 21, 2021 by Tracy Schuster

As Americans face a multitude of despotic measures, it is irrational for state legislatures to obstruct a Convention of States. Their obstruction is a rejection of America’s foremost and highest held principle: the freedom to govern ourselves.

Legislatures which refuse to assent to Article V should review the 27 grievances listed in the Declaration of Independence.

Many of the grievances we have with the federal government today are comparable to the 27 grievances Jefferson listed in the Declaration of Independence.

Let's take a look at a few.

Grievances 1-12 are complaints on the abuse of power by King George III.

#1: "He has refused his assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."

According to John Locke, one of history's most influential political philosophers:  "The power of the Government is limited to the public good." It is a power “that hath no other end but preservation” and therefore cannot justify killing, enslaving, or plundering the citizens. Governments as our Framers understood, exist only to protect people from infringements on their rights.

What do your instincts tell you? Is the federal government protecting your rights or infringing upon them?

#2: The second abuse listed in the Declaration mentions “neglect”—

As John Locke stated: “For all Power given with trust for the attaining of an end, being limited by that end, whenever that end is manifestly neglected, or opposed, the trust must necessarily be forfeited, and the Power devolve into the hands of those that gave it, who may place it anew where they shall think best for their safety and security.”

Congress was vested with the great majority of constitutional power, yet they have essentially rendered themselves ineffectual. Their exclusive power to make law has been debased to near nothingness; now, 99% of laws come from court decisions, regulations and executive orders— nearly anywhere except from congressional action.

Congress, who holds the purse strings, has put us $30 trillion in debt, that accounts for an astonishing 30% of the world's debt— and just what problems have they solved? Healthcare and health insurance are more expensive than ever, college tuition is astronomical, there is a perpetual crisis along our southern border, the federal government increasingly infringes upon states' rights, elections are not secure, more people are in poverty, inflation is at its highest since 1982, there is a continuous drug epidemic, the bureaucratic agencies are politicized, corrupt officials are not held accountable, all while the media plays the role of the Pretorian guard. The debt ceiling has been raised 78 times under a feigned concern that America will collapse if they fail to do so.

The truth they hide is America will collapse financially at some point if we don't confront the out-of-control spending. America's republic stands for order and stability, not perpetual chaos and fear.

We are all guilty of immorally kicking the can down the road for future generations to deal with.

Congress and the president are responsible for checking each other— each are meant to protect us from the corruption and the incompetence of the other. Congress either entirely neglects or abuses this check and balance principle, thereby, agitating rather than smoothing tensions.

Grievances 13-22 address actions by the King and Parliament which violated their Constitution.

#13: The thirteenth abuse addresses violations of jurisdiction. There is legislative usurpation whenever government makes laws which have not been authorized by the people.

The colonists rightly objected to taxation without representation, just as Americans rightly object to the heavy burdensome laws imposed by the administrative state agencies too voluminous to read or understand. The federal government was never given the power to extend unwarrantable jurisdiction over us— that was never an idea entertained by our founders and we will justly reject unwarrantable encroachments and usurpations.

The 2020 Election was rife with fraud— a concerted effort was waged against the 2005 bipartisan Commission on Federal Election Reform— all of the Commission’s recommendations were ignored in the 2020 elections.

Democrats targeted every state's election laws. Unauthorized public officials made changes to Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona's election systems. These states alone equate to 73 Electoral College votes which should not have been certified.

According to constitutional lawyer, Mark Levin, each and every one of these states violated the United States Constitution.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 exclusively empowers State Legislatures to make election law for their state (no power whatsoever is granted to governors, secretaries of states, courts, or bureaucrats in this Clause). Read Levin’s Op-ed Here.

The Supreme Court neglected their duty to insist that states comply with the Constitution’s Article II, Sect. 1, Clause 2 as well as the principles of representation and consent of the governed that are at the heart of America’s government— they are the principles that initiated independence in 1776 and subsequently, the Constitutional structure that protects them.

Grievances 23-27 are charges against the King for making war on the colonists.

Reading these particular grievances makes me realize how close we are to repeating history. Let’s take a look.

#23: He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

#24: He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns and destroyed the lives of our people.

I address most of this grievance under #27.

That said, the federal government has, in a palpable sense, ravaged our coasts and plundered our seas.

Through a deliberate, pervasive and sustained indoctrination effort by Marxist revolutionaries, the true moral nature and history of capitalism has been portrayed as the source of all societal evils in the world.

Yet, those who proclaim capitalism is evil are the very ones who go out into peaceful communities and burn them to the ground. Furthermore, those who sit at the throne of "woke" Marxist organizations such as BLM, Soros groups, ANTIFA, DSA, Pantsuit Nation, The Squad, as well as athletes like Colin Kaepernick and LeBron James, are prospering very well while directly participating in this "evil capitalist system"; some even possess more property and luxuries than the capitalists they hold in contempt.

Surely a true Marxist would redistribute their wealth, giving everyone a fair share, right?

History has proven otherwise. Turns out that wealthy Marxists remain seated on the throne, cementing their perpetual rule over the "lower class".

The means by which they stay in perpetual rule is via intensified indoctrination and control over resources.

This is where the war on energy stems from. Everyone needs it; therefore, it must be controlled in order to control the population as well as the wealth of the nation.

Indoctrination has led to an irrational hysteria about "climate change", so much so that mobs and judicial activists seek to eliminate the use of fossil fuels, regardless of the risks placed on national security or our economic stability. The rabid hair-on-fire hysteria is a weapon used to suppress any logical debate on the issue of fossil fuels.

Though, it should be obvious to their underlings, that the shutdown of a large sector of the American economy has far more to do with destroying capitalism than it ever had to do with climate change; especially when you observe the same administration that shelved one of our nation’s most powerful economic tools, did not hesitate to loan $2 billion to Brazil to finance oil exploration along their coastline.

It's not about drilling, it never was— it's about who gets the resources, who gets to drill, and of course, it's about who benefits from the wealth— hint: it isn't American citizens.

After all the propaganda, lawsuits and loans to other countries, it still does not change the fact that renewable energy is simply not capable of fulfilling America’s energy needs. And there will come a time when they themselves, will live with the dire consequences of their war on oil and gas.

#25: He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

The immigration crisis is a man-made crisis and one that is exacerbated by congressional neglect of Article I, Sect. 8, Clause 4.

The establishment left has forsaken America's sovereignty; they have no intent to secure our international borders because non-Western migrants serve to accelerate their Marxist agenda— they see migrants as allies in their revolutionary transformation of America.

As Thomas Jefferson predicted in Notes on the State of Virginia, importing foreigners at random and without any effort to assimilate them results in a massive underclass, almost none of whom has any understanding of, or affinity for, our way of life.

The Marxist left or establishment elite don't share your concern about mass caravans, drug trafficking, human/sex trafficking, infectious diseases, gang violence, or terrorism— because these acts are a welcome addition to their destabilization repertoire.

These elected servants will demand that American citizens acquiesce or be riddled with slanderous accusations of racism— a pitiful attempt to reassign their party's long atrocious history of slavery, racism and segregation onto others who have never harbored such ill-will.

An immigration amendment should be considered

Given Congress's excruciatingly prolonged neglect of immigration and the consequential crises, an immigration amendment should be considered to remove the power from the Congress and place rational, judicious, reputable laws into the Constitution— this would bring much needed security and stability to our border states. It will also serve to depoliticize a process which should be handled with utmost care. Immigration should be a continued tradition and blessing for the betterment of our country, not the instrument by which globalists destabilize and fundamentally alter our traditions and values.

#26:  He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

While the high seas weren’t involved, we have recently witnessed citizens being taken captive (imprisoned) and denied due process. We’ve seen the arbitrary power wielded by the justice system as well as the fake virtuous indignation the media has fictitiously staged as rationalization for their vengeful melodramatic authoritarianism.

The Capitol protest-turned riot will never be held in high esteem or celebrated by American patriots simply because American patriots are a far different breed and follow a far different creed than any Marxist revolutionary.

You see, we love our country because our founding principles were divinely inspired and remain unsurpassed by any other nation. Moreover, we understand the moral duty entrusted to us in preserving virtuous liberty for mankind.

There is a valid reason why I won't condemn all of the people the federal government rounded up after the incursion on the Capitol, this is it:

A hallmark of U.S. government since 1801, the peaceful transfer of power, was denied to President Trump for his entire term. The four-year long vicious attack the democrat party and the bureaucratic tyrants waged on President Trump, his administration, his family and the millions who elected him, was the most abhorrent display of "democracy" this country has ever seen. Their conspiracy stories, criminal and congressional investigations, impeachments, coup attempts, and relentless slanders were war-like operations conducted to permanently destroy opposition so they, and only they, hold absolute political power. So, there is no denying that these Jan 6 pro-American citizens had been verbally abused, provoked, intimidated and lied to for four long years— they did have a valid right to seek redress.

Video footage shows that many were calm, non-violent and non-destructive and yet, these people were rounded up and imprisoned (separated from their children) along with those who did partake in destruction.

What I condemn more than anything is the unconstitutional means and arbitrary force used to go after American citizens— remember that these same government officials, politicians and bureaucrats refuse to go after illegal aliens (with criminal records) and harbor them in sanctuary cities.

I do condemn the FBI for their sordid involvement in staging a riot. Their involvement was clearly premeditated: they infiltrated groups, preyed upon people, provided access, opened barriers, provided weapons, directed and lead people throughout and around the Capitol, withheld information, gave false information, clearly kept in communication with others during the riot via earpieces— these are entrapment schemes employed to create a riotous situation, not quell one.

Just how many FBI agents were involved? And how many trained ANTIFA, BLM and Civil Society 2.0 revolutionaries were brought in to "play Trump supporters gone insurrectionists"?

After all, wasn't it those very groups, the avowed revolutionaries, that perpetrated uncivil war on American soil for months during 2020?

They are indeed the militant groups donned in black bloc, armed with bricks, bats, flame throwers, military grenades, and semiautomatic rifles, that set cars, dumpsters, businesses, courthouses and police stations on fire in city after city in 2020.

I do condemn the government employees who torture and abuse these citizens who have been denied of their 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th amendment rights.

I do condemn those in the government who have not demanded the release of these American citizens.

There is a stark difference in the way which the members of Congress, bureaucrats, president and the media persecute and dehumanize those who have been arrested after the Jan 6 protest at the Capitol and how they cheered on the 2020 BLM/ANTIFA rioters.

The 633 violent BLM/ANTIFA riots lasted for months, and the rioters, which the left cheered, destroyed and burnt down over $10 billion worth of property belonging to their fellow American citizens, ruining their livelihood.

Worse is the fact that the number of police officers killed in the line of duty soared 40% and ambush attacks on police officers rose 91%.

Their rioters took the lives of 34 of their fellow American citizens. And their violence continues to this day.

Is this their idea of a Marxist utopia? Is this the moral high ground Biden, Pelosi and Harris stand upon? That isn't justice, it's nothing more than undue hateful vengeance— It betrays every human rationale. They merely lowered themselves and became exactly what they professed to hate.

There is a critical difference between the 2020 BLM riots and the incursion on the capitol building.

According to BLM organizers, their intent is to disrupt law and order in this country, and to destroy its institutions and overthrow America's governmental system. The BLM rioters were trained, dressed, transported, paid, organized, coordinated, funded, and championed by the Marxist left.

In contrast, the January 6 Capitol protesters were urging politicians to adhere to the Constitution, abide by their oaths of office, and investigate widespread criminal activity that occurred in the November 3, 2020, election.

Demanding enforcement of the Constitution and preserving integrity of our election process is the total opposite of corrupting the electoral process and waging violence nationwide to overthrow America's Constitutional Republic.

Here's an interesting fact to keep in mind when listening to the righteous indignation displayed by the January 6 Committee members:

The CIA has conducted 73 coup d'états—  that equates to one-third of the countries in the world.

To think that the CIA or another federal agency was not involved with January 6th is naive.

#27: He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

The BLM and ANTIFA riots of 2020 were the actual domestic insurrectionists attempting to overthrow America's republic. They turned numerous towns across America into Marxist utopian infernos that ruined the lives and livelihoods of many civil-minded Americans citizens— this was a direct assault on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness— and it was championed by members of Congress.

Violence was also instigated by the deliberate misrepresentation of facts disseminated by the DOJ to manufacture racial strife.

See: Many people expressed deep concern over the numerous consent decrees Lynch's Justice Department (DOJ) arranged with police departments, when violent crime rates actually increased due to the restraints and disincentives contained in her decrees.

Given that there have been between 70,000 and 100,000 overdose deaths every year in the US, it is sinister that the billion-dollar-a-year drug trafficking ring/terrorist group, Hezbollah, was allowed to continue smuggling tons of cocaine into the US while Obama ironed out his Iran Nuclear Deal.

Again, given the multitude of injuries and usurpations committed by the federal government, it should be obvious that a return to self-governance and the other founding principles is absolutely necessary for the preservation of American liberty.

It is time to take a stand for the principles which have proven to bring about the betterment of humanity.

Convention of States is the ultimate exertion of self-governance bestowed by our Creator, proclaimed in the Declaration, enshrined in our Constitution, and embedded in our DNA.

We the People are the many, they are the few— we need to remove power from the corrupt few in the federal government in order to change our trajectory back toward the virtuous self-governing principles America was established upon.

The states that deny the people, the true fountain of power, their primary right and duty to preserve their God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, are in essence, abandoning America's founding principles, and neglecting their duty in upholding the Constitution— that is just as repressive as what is imposed upon us by the federal government.
