Amid the mind-bending and alarming presidential campaign, it can be easy to get distracted.
But the COS North Carolina team has its eyes on the prize.
That's because their state is on the verge of making history and the grassroots can make it happen.
Because the North Carolina House passed our COS resolution already this session, it only needs to be passed in the State Senate now for North Carolina to become the 20th state in the union to call for an Article V convention to propose amendments to limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government.
To keep the momentum going, join former United States Senator, former presidential candidate, and Convention of States Action senior advisor Rick Santorum at a town hall meeting in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on September 24 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The event will last until 8:00 p.m.
The Town Hall meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express/Yadkin Valley Event Center, which is located at 1700 Winkler Street in Wilkesboro. You can register here to attend.
Santorum will update attendees about the situation in the North Carolina Senate and outline how the grassroots army can persuade state senators in Raleigh to get the COS resolution to the floor and passed before the current legislative session expires.
North Carolina state representative Dennis Riddell, COSA regional director Grant Martin, and other COS state leaders will also be on hand. The Liberty Llama will be making an appearance as well to greet guests and pose for photos!
The COS resolution in North Carolina, formally known as House Joint Resolution 235, is currently pending in the Senate Committee on Rules and Operations of the Senate. The North Carolina House passed HJR 235 on March 8, 2023, by a vote of 61-55.
"State legislators respond to the will of their constituents," said Martin. "It is vitally important that we demonstrate that there is overwhelming support for the Convention of States solution. Join us at the Wilkesboro town hall to demonstrate your support and to be motivated by former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum."
Register here for what will be an informative and inspirational evening!
