The Trenton Team Takes Off: COS New Jersey Volunteers Visit Trenton

Published in Blog on December 05, 2017 by Jonathan Viaud

On Thursday, November 30, the New Jersey legislature resumed the 217th Legislative Session.

There to greet the legislators upon their return to the capital were Convention of States New Jersey leaders and volunteers. Legislative Liaison Bill Truax, Grassroots Coordinator Lee Mack, Media Liaison Gary Brenner, and Volunteer Liza Thomas traveled to Trenton to observe the legislative process and engage legislators about the COS Article V application.

One legislator they met with was Assemblyman Robert Auth (LD-39), who is a primary sponsor of the COS application (ACR 84) in the New Jersey Assembly. COS volunteers strategized with Assemblyman Auth and discussed an action plan.

Ultimately, Legislative Liaison Bill Truax announced the formation of the Trenton Team. The purpose of the team will be to attend legislative sessions regularly, and to be a visible reminder to legislators of the New Jersey support for the Convention of States Article V grassroots movement.

The Trenton Team will be comprised of state leaders and volunteers. If you are interested in joining the team, or would like to learn more information, please contact Bill Truax at william.truax@cosaction.com or Lee Mack at lee.mack@cosaction.com.
