Newly elected Republican Victoria Spartz wasn't supposed to win her House seat in the election earlier this month. But she pulled off the surprise victory in part because voters rejected the socialist agenda of her Democratic challenger.
Now Spartz, who grew up in the socialist country of Ukraine, is blasting what she sees as a dangerous big-government trend in the federal government.
"The majority of people in our country don't believe in socialistic, utopic ideas that the Democratic party is now promoting," she said in a recent interview.
"I grew up in socialism. I saw what happens when it runs out of money, and it's not pretty," she continued. "I can tell you what is going to be next. It's very sad for me to see that, and that made me as a mother of two daughters, it made me get involved."
It's encouraging to see the election of representatives like Spartz, but it may not be enough to stem the socialist tide. The socialist "Squad" in Congress is growing, and the recent riots and looting have been spurred by socialist ideas.
We need a permanent firewall against the big-government takeover of our country, and we can build one with an Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments that limit the size, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. With these amendments in place, socialist policies will be virtually impossible as power is transferred back to the states and the people.
Millions of Americans have sign the Convention of States Petition, and 15 states have called for a Convention. To join the movement, sign the petition below!
