NC Convention of States volunteers from 5 house districts in the Piedmont Region came to work at the COS petition table at Speedology's Fly High Lexington air and car show. We are growing the largest grassroots army of self-governing citizens. The volunteers did an amazing job sharing the hope of Article V Convention of States process to reign in a tyrannical federal government.
There were over 100 classic and modern cars on display. Flying demonstrations, delicious food, and music by a DJ, made for a fun, festive atmosphere. The team's focus was to share Article V Convention of States process and status of North Carolina's resolution, HJR 235, and to connect petition signers with their senator. They were given an assignment to call and email their senator urging them to vote on HJR 235 this session.
A second focus was to share social media pages for Convention of States. There was a fun COS swag giveaway with a t-shirt and a hat as prizes.
People were very receptive and enthusiastic. There were petition signers from Alamance, Cabarrus, Davie, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Randolph, and Union Counties. 40 petitions were signed.
HJR 235, Convention of States Resolution has passed the NC House and needs to be moved to the NC Senate for a vote this session. Sign the petition to let your legislator know that you are a COS Supporter that wants NC to become state #20.
