“The Passionate desire of my heart and constant prayer is for (my fellow countrymen) Israel to experience salvation.” Romans 10:1
This is the kind of heart that changes a nation. Many seek after riches, status, and power, but one who seeks the good of his fellow countryman truly seeks the good of the nation!
Jesus said “the harvest is ripe but the laborers are few. Pray to the Lord of the harvest that he would send forth laborers into the field.” Matthew 9:38
Politics only reflect the culture of a nation, and the culture is only a reflection of the hearts of the people. So the only way to change the culture is to change the hearts of the people with the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
“But how can people call on him for help if they have not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it?” Romans 10:14
“The fields are ripe…” In other words, everything is in place for a great awakening in this country: “God gave his only begotten Son, that whoever should believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Jesus went the full distance and paid the full price for our sins on the cross, so when he cried out “it is finished”, John 19:30, it truly was!
Everything is now ready for the fulfillment of God's heart. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. The only thing lacking now is “laborers”- us!
We need to adopt this same “passionate desire in our hearts and constant prayer for our fellow countryman to experience salvation” that Paul had. Then and only then will America be saved!
So this Tuesday when you are voting to fulfill your duty to this self-governing Republic, don't forget to stay engaged in the real work of saving this wonderful "One Nation Under God."
