It’s been quite the ride in Montana.
After hearing superlative grassroots testimony regarding House Joint Resolution 5 (HJ5) — the COS resolution — on January 24, the Montana House Business and Labor Committee tabled the bill in a seeming defeat. But then, earlier this week, the committee revisited and passed HJ5, voting 11-9 to advance the grassroots-backed measure.
It was an unexpected victory that cleared the path for a full vote in the Montana House of Representatives — a strong reminder to never give up, even when success appears out of reach.
Now, in the latest chapter of this ongoing saga, the House will consider our resolution today, April 3, at 1:00 p.m. MT.
More than a century ago, prospectors flocked to Montana in search of untold riches, earning the state its “Treasure State” moniker. Today, Montana continues its quest for a different kind of treasure: solutions to federal overreach. The answer is right in front of them. Tune in to COS Live today to see if legislators will have the courage to seize this great prize.
