On Thursday, June 18, Convention of States New Jersey held their third COS at Home Webinar and managed to set a new record for webinar attendees!
A total of 186 people joined the virtual town hall, which featured Dr. Michael Farris' "return" to New Jersey.
The COS co-founder debated Andy Schlafly of Eagle Forum during one of the first major COS events in May 2014 that took place in Hillsborough, New Jersey. It was an incredibly inspiring performance, and helped launch the movement.
During the webinar, Dr. Farris explained why he decided to co-found Convention of States and how it can help heal our country.
"The only way our country is going to be healed is if they believe, together, in one basic idea that's found in the Declaration of Independence," said Dr. Farris. "What's the purpose of government? It's to do two things: to secure God-given rights and to ensure that people are treated equally."
Dr. Farris also shared that he thinks New Jersey can pass the COS Article V application.
"When we get the convention called, I want you guys elected as delegates, so we get the right people at the convention," he said.
