The Convention of States movement is built on the backs of our volunteers. This grassroots army is truly made up of average citizens just like you who have decided to step up and get involved.
One of the key roles in our organization is our District Captains (DC). These men and woman are the ones who are active in their communities in spreading the word about the COS solution and helping get others involved.
Here is a short Q&A to get some insight to better know your local DC, Vicky Buhr.
Q: How long have you been involved with COS?
A: About one year.
Q: What was the big item/thing that drew you into becoming a volunteer/leader?
A: Our government and what is happening.
Q: What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned in regard to COS or the U.S. Constitution?
A: The involvement it takes to ask for a Convention of States.
Q: What is it like being a district captain?
A: Scary at first, but now that I'm more seasoned it is actually fun getting to meet other patriots!
Q: Which of the three pillars of COS do you feel is most important?
A: I think the most important one is reining in the power of the federal government. They have added things to themselves that are not constitutional, and it needs to be stopped.
Q: Why do you believe in the COS movement?
A: This country needs an Article V convention as allowed by the Constitution to carry out the arms of the pillar with amendments.
Q: What has been your most rewarding aspect of being involved with COS so far?
A: Getting to know other patriots like myself and how they have the same things of concern.
Q: What is the support for COS like in your district?
A: It is hard to gain volunteers as people are so busy. I am going to start calling people from the onset of signatures and asking about them volunteering.
Q: What would you say to someone who is on the fence regarding Article V COS?
A: This is a very needed cause that will benefit everyone in our nation, even those that think things are going well as their eyes are blinded right now.
