Raise your hand if you enjoyed having to constrict your nose, ears, and mouth with an uncomfortable strip of fabric every time you stepped out of your door. Not many, right? It’s safe to say that there aren’t a whole lot of people in the world who got a kick out of constantly restricting their flow of oxygen, to say nothing of the psychological effect of feeling like you’re muzzled and silenced. There’s a reason that plantation owners used to put masks on their slaves. It demoralizes and subjects.
While it would be a difficult to find someone who enjoyed wearing masks during the 2020 lockdowns, the same cannot be said for those who enjoyed putting them on others. In fact, most states need only look to their local or state government bureaucrats to discover such individuals, historically referred to as tyrants. And as is the case with such people, once wasn't enough.
What we tolerate, we empower, and few have been more empowered than the government during COVID. More freedoms were trod upon, more rights restricted, and more tyrants empowered than ever before in America since 1776. We thought it was over. We thought we could breathe easy again, literally and figuratively. We thought that politicians who abuse their power will only do it once.
We thought wrong.
Despite even the CDC admitting that masks are ineffective at preventing viral infection, an increasing number of places in America, mostly schools, have decided to force their students to mask up.
Rosemary Hills elementary school in Montgomery County has jumped on the mask wagon. In a letter to parents that was signed by Principal Rebecca Kennedy, the new guidelines are laid out.
But it’s only temporary, right? It’s for the children’s safety, right? Never mind the science. Never mind the facts. Never mind the parents. Just obey.
Except that people aren’t! Multiple counties and states have officially declared they will NOT be reinstating any of the COVID insanity that plagued us in the past. In Arkansas, Gov. Sanders said,
“We…have to be sure that government never again tramples on our liberty like it did during the COVID-19 pandemic. Back then, a handful of bureaucrats shut down our schools, our churches, our businesses, enforced masks on our kids, and tried to implement vaccine passports. That will not happen again here in the state of Arkansas.”
Even Anthony Fauci made a surprising admission about the subject:
“[The] typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.”
If you follow the science, you’ll discover that masks don’t work. You’ll probably also discover along the way that some people don’t care. They just want to do whatever makes them feel better, regardless of the facts. And in this case, what makes them feel better is putting useless, restrictive masks on other people’s children, regardless of parental consent.
How unfortunate for them that Americans are rediscovering their ability to self-govern. We do not require an all-knowing bureaucrat, doctor, or “expert” to tell us how to live. We do not require the permission of the government to exercise our rights. And we are fully capable of doing our own research, and finding that the only thing masks, lockdowns, and government mandates are good for is destroying liberty.
