Maryland Volunteer: If We Don't Control this Overreach, Who Will?

Published in Blog on April 11, 2022 by Maria Moungelis Bedard

This week Maryland volunteer and Navy veteran, Robert Fischer was featured on the Convention of States National Rumble channel following his testimony to the Maryland Senate in support of the COS Action bill.

Robert noted that a clear 75% of US voters support term limits for Congress. Today, 60% of the US Senate and 40% of the US House of Representatives is over the age of 65.

The Harvard Health Organization reports that the chance of developing dementia increases 6% each year after the age of 65.

Longer political tenures lead to stagnation, resistance to change and obligations to special interests.

Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell and Maryland's own Steny Hoyer (D5) have served a combined 113 years in Congress. At ages 82, 80 and 83 respectively, their ages total 245 years -  our nation is 246 years old!  Steny Hoyer was first elected to the Maryland senate in 1966 - that's 56 years in politics.

They have long surpassed their expiration dates.

Citizens concerned for the future of their country, under a federal government that's increasingly bloated, corrupt, decrepit have a constitutional option. We can call a Convention of States to bring power back to the states and the people, where it belongs. Be a 21st Century Patriot. Join us and Sign the Petition.
