Maryland makes major moves and more for the New Year!

Published in Blog on January 03, 2022 by Michael Lee Rilee

The Convention of States Action Maryland team has made great strides in 2021.

This has been a year of great growth in support and volunteer activism.

  • Over 6000 Marylanders signed the COS petition, raising our total to 27,697.
  • Over 200 inquired about volunteer opportunities and more than 80 have taken on a volunteer role!
  • COSA-MD now has 106 registered Volunteer Activists, a 5x increase over 2020!
  • Our Communications and Social Media teams have grown, organized, and taken on a real "battle rhythm."
  • The number of Districts with Captains organizing them nearly doubled to ten!

COSA-MD attended 20 or more events ranging from county fairs to District Meet & Greets over the summer, gathering hundreds of petition signatures and dozens of volunteers.

Our energized Communications team turned heads by publishing well over 100 blog posts over the year, getting things going with our "50K Race to Liberty" initiative. This included the informative and inspiring "50 Patriots Who Would Have Signed the Petition" series that took us back to patriots ranging from George and Martha Washington to Jeffrey Brace and more!

Our newly revamped Facebook team has broadened our reach from dozens to thousands, and other Social Media Warriors are starting to reach out to other channels too.

We coached, trained, and mentored our COSA-MD activists so we were prepared to speak and write about COS to our neighbors and legislators, particularly during the Maryland 2021 Legislative Session at the beginning of the year.

Our incredibly successful 2021 Citizen Action Day and our testimony in committee with the House of Delegates in Annapolis can be seen on our YouTube channel or on our new Rumble channel! Take a look, then like & subscribe!

Our activities have been noticed within the Convention of States movement, and more importantly, here in Maryland and our state legislature.

We are ready for a very active New Year!

In 2022, for the first time in years, our Article V Convention of States resolution will be filed in both the House of Delegates and the Senate of the Maryland General Assembly. This is a key step in the process of having Maryland help put a stop to federal overreach, fiscal irresponsibility, and careerist crony politicians.

To help us rebuild self-governance in Maryland and prepare for the 2022 Legislative Session, COSA-MD has started a Back to Basics series. Our excellent communications, education, and training teams are providing a refresher course on Maryland civics, as well as the Constitution, so we can make a difference in Annapolis and beyond.

It's an exciting time in Maryland for our Convention of States movement.

But your country needs your help.

  • Learn about self-governance in Maryland with our Back to Basics events.
  • Contact your legislators with polite hand-written letters, emails, and phone calls supporting Convention of States.
  • Come to COSA-MD Citizen Action Day to meet your legislators and express your support for COS
  • Spread the word!

In 2022, be a Twenty First Century Patriot. Stand up for the truth and sign the petition calling for an Article V Convention of States to fight government overreach, overspending, and politicians overstaying their welcome. Then take action, spread the word, and get everyone you know to sign.
