The huge crowd attending Tucker Carlson Live last Thursday at the Honda Center in Anaheim provided a steady harvest of petitions signed for the non-partisan Article V Convention of States grassroots initiative. Led by Convention of States (COS) California (CA) State Director Alison Moon of Fresno, the COS CA team of six stayed busy throughout the evening using clipboards, tablets, and palm cards to introduce the COS plan to as many people as possible, asking them to sign the petition, too. Alison later reported, “This event was a success because the team was prepared and had fun working the crowd.”
The grassroots volunteers with Convention of States at the event were Erin Anderson of Chino Hills, Mary Hebert of Anaheim, Alison and her husband Rusty, and Deb Oresko of Yorba Linda. Accompanying the volunteers was Mike Ruthenberg, Chief Grassroots Officer for Convention of States, from San Diego, a forever undaunted, always hopeful servant leader who won over many a petition signer with his simple message, “Are you interested in passing term limits for federal officials?” No one said they weren’t interested.
With the Tucker Carlson Live Tour, Tucker and his guests, like Vivek Ramaswamy, who joined Tucker in Anaheim, as well as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., are appearing in person around America to expose propaganda and share the news that the people need to know.

Attendance in Anaheim was about 11,000 people, many of whom wore apparel emblazoned with patriotic slogans. They had traversed the vast distance of the arena parking lot in 100-degree weather to gather for the good of the country they love! Once inside the air-conditioned building, they must have felt relief and excitement. Throughout the concourse were scattered exhibit tables from groups such as Turning Point USA and Moms for Liberty. At the COS table, a banner and eager volunteers beckoned the people to learn about Article V and Convention of States.
Everyone was interested and listened intently as the volunteers spoke. Launched in 2013, the Convention of States provides a solution as big as the problems of entrenched government corruption, out-of-control federal spending and endless federal power grabs. Because Tucker Carlson has voiced his support of Convention of States, the COS CA volunteers felt privileged. They shared the news about Article V of the Constitution and the means by which the states can get their power back from the federal government.
Here’s how it works. When 34 states agree by resolution to meet for a convention to rein in D.C., a date and a location will be set for the meeting. The states will elect delegates to attend the convention and serve as commissioners, with each state getting one vote. The delegates propose, debate, and vote on amendments at the convention. Proposed amendments passed by a majority of state delegates are sent to the states for ratification. When 38 states ratify a proposed amendment, it becomes part of the Constitution.
The Tucker Carlson Live event is drawing huge crowds across America. Why? COS volunteer Mary Hebert said, “People know things are not going well in our country but our media and many of our government leaders are lying to us about what the problems are. Free speech is being restricted in our nation and in our world. The Tucker Carlson event was a place to hear a conversation between three well known personalities and hear their views for ourselves.”
It has become clear that the establishment in Washington D.C. is arrayed against the individual states and the people, creating mandates that all must follow and failing to guard our national treasure: We the People. Yet everyone at the Tucker Carlson Live event wanted to know how they could help fix these problems! Perhaps the most important takeaway from the whole national movement toward restoring America’s promise is that the people want to be part of the solution!
