Wow!
That's the way to describe the reaction of Convention of States Florida team members who made their way to the state of Virginia to attend the first-ever Convention of States Leadership Summit.
Held in Colonial Williamsburg, the Summit was history-in-the-making, as 400+ grassroots leaders from all 50 states assembled to participate in one of the best-run, best-organized conferences attended by any member of the team.
Thirteen leaders with the Florida team attended this first-ever COS Leadership Summit.
One of the highlights for Florida was the presentation of the Challenge Coin to Bonnie Corbett, Events Coordinator. Challenge Coins are awarded to those who have demonstrated extraordinary initiative, drive, and servant leadership.
Congratulations, Bonnie! She brings to life and supports all the events going on around the state.
Keynote Address
The Saturday evening dinner with Mark Levin proved to be another highlight of the Summit. The popular broadcaster and author mesmerized the room full of grassroots activists.
Saturday's presentations included national awards given out to several state and region leaders and culminated in a very moving Lifetime Achievement Award given to Senior Advisor Dr. Tom Coburn for his incredible commitment to Convention of States.
Many of the speaker presentations are still available to be viewed on the Convention of States Florida Facebook page.
It was such a great moment when we all realized that we are not just voices out in the wilderness.
We are bound in a common family with a message for this country. Our activism can change the dysfunctional path we are on and save this county from ruin. With one voice we can make history and return this great nation to the right path, just as the Founders arranged for us in the fifth article of the Constitution with the spirit that the Declaration of Independence prescribed.
As a Passed State, there is still much for Florida to do. We hope you will join us. Self-governance is not just about a convention!
