Feds Wasted Thousands with Snap of a Finger

Published in Blog on June 12, 2023 by Robert Bonhag

The Feds spent $118,971 of taxpayer money to learn whether one could snap his fingers while wearing a metal glove.

The project was inspired by the movie Avengers: Infinity War and its heroic characters Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and the evil Thanos. In that movie, Thanos is presented as wearing a superstitious metal glove that gives its owner extraordinary powers just by snapping one’s finger.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) was so curious about the reality of Thanos’s stunts that it granted $118,971 to a researcher at Georgia Tech to study if Thanos could snap his fingers while wearing the Infinity Gauntlet (a metal glove).

Guess what they discovered: Thanos could not snap his fingers while wearing the metal gloves. Isn’t this the conclusion that we would have?

Congress is not the guardian of our money.
