Fauci secures surprising new promotion

Published in Blog on June 30, 2023 by Jakob Fay

The notorious Dr. Anthony Fauci, who led the nation through the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, and whose net worth skyrocketed in that time, clinched a new job this week, although it’s not in the government.

Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., announced that the onetime bureaucrat—loved by some, distrusted by others—will join faculty as a Distinguished University Professor beginning July 1. According to Georgetown, Fauci will assist in training “future physicians in infectious diseases” and may contribute to courses on making public policy.

“I have appointments in the Department of Medicine and the School of Public Policy,” the doctor described. “So I’m excited about putting together the overlap of medicine and public policy. And developing collaborations at various levels, particularly with students, and I mean all students – I don’t mean just medical students.”

“I ask myself, now, at this stage in my life, what do I have to offer to society? I could do more experiments in the lab and have my lab going, but given what I’ve been through, I think what I have to offer is experience and inspiration to the younger generation of students.”

Chillingly, when Dr. Fauci spoke at Georgetown in 2017, he predicted the then-forthcoming pandemic with disturbing accuracy.

“There is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming [Trump] administration in the arena of infectious diseases,” he lectured. “There will be a surprise outbreak."

"We’re extraordinarily confident that we are going to see this in the next few years.”

Anthony Fauci is the archetypal example of a bureaucrat bloated with power. At the height of the pandemic, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) director, despite being unelected, could single-handedly make policy that impacted the entire nation. And he made millions doing so. He serves as the perfect reminder of why America needs to rein in its bureaucratic state.

With an Article V convention, we can ensure that no politician is ever again given so much power to upend millions of Americans’ lives. To support the Founders’ solution for unchecked government power, sign the Convention of States petition below.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
