Fairfield Gunshow Was Rockin & Rollin

Published in Blog on July 22, 2021 by Kimberly Hogan

Over the weekend our Northern California team came together to gather petition signatures for an Article V Convention Of States at our first gun show event of the year. This event was cause for extra celebration since this was one of the first in the state where we weren't under some form of COVID restriction.

"I couldn't imagine doing this if we would have had to worn masks," District Captain Matthew Cooper remarked, "It would have made everything harder to do.

"From getting someone's attention, to even just trying to explain Article V and what we are all about. Not being able to see someone's face makes communication difficult"

It is for reasons such as that, that our volunteers were out hosting a booth. Washington, D.C., is increasingly becoming more brazen and tyrannical in their grab for power. From installing Capital Police in State Capitols of Florida and California, to new efforts to restrict firearm ownership. It's only a matter of time before they set their gaze on policies such as mask mandates to control another aspect of our lives. Our volunteers know there is a solution to keep that kind of overreach from ever becoming reality or stop it if it ever does.

Excited to finally be out from under the restrictions of this past year's lockdown and mandates, two of our Northern California District Captains decided to team up and host a booth at the Fairfield Gun Show. It was an incredible demonstration of teamwork on the parts of Matthew Cooper, District Captain for Districts 4 & 10 & Wanda Kennedy, District Captain for District 11.

From start to finish through every step of preparation from securing a spot at the venue, to organizing the volunteers they were in constant communication with each other to make this a successful event.

The gun show was a first for both of these District Captains and they weren't sure exactly what to expect. What they quickly came to realize, though, was that there are many people just like them who believe that our federal government controls too much, spends too much, and is promising to do more of the same.

"It was so easy to explain to people!" District Captain Wanda Kennedy stated, "Once we mentioned Term Limits, or Fiscal Restraints they were interested. And Matthew would get talking and I would feed off his energy and I would get to talking and they would get it and wanted to know where to sign."

Both Wanda & Matthew stayed for the entire time during both days of the event, with Sunday by far being the busiest. Sunday was rocking & rolling!  And despite it being two full days it was fun and exciting and they didn't seem to tire. As they came away from this weekend feeling inspired and fulfilled from the people they touched and the relationships that they formed.

"All that energy from connecting with patriots and freedom lovers really carried the day!"

This was an amazing event and they look forward to coming together again soon with Naomi Conner, Susan Bell, Victor Clark, Butch Palmgren, Janese Smith, Anne Parkinson, and Lucy Santos for the next one.

This is what it is all about. People from all walks of life coming together to make a difference for our country. Uniting under the cause for calling a Convention Of States to rein in an out of control federal government. It doesn't get much more American than that.

Article V of our Constitution is the answer to the mess that is currently Washington, D.C. And Convention of States is the vehicle that will get us there. With the support and teamwork from people just like you throughout the nation, we will make it happen.
