Your Tax Dollars at Work: Encouraging Ethiopians to Wear Shoes

Published in Blog on January 08, 2024 by Robert Bonhag

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) granted the National Human Genome Research Institute $2,134,835 of our money over 5 years to encourage rural Ethiopians to wear shoes.

In this study, the NIH funded an experiment to tell Ethiopians what to wear and how to live.

Poverty-stricken Ethiopians cannot afford to buy shoes for themselves or their children. Yet, our government spent $2.1 million of our tax dollars on a study to tell residents of Ethiopian villages the importance of wearing shoes to prevent skin diseases.

Even if the Ethiopians know the importance of shoes, they still cannot afford to buy them.

Stay tuned to our Blogs to know more about how your government is frittering away your money.
