District 26 Home Meeting w/ Rick & Susan Mangini

Published in Blog on September 27, 2021 by Rick Mangini

COS District Captains Rick & Susan Mangini hosted a very successful “First Convention of States Meeting” in the 26th District.

Visalia, for those who don’t know, is one of the very best places to live in California.

Visalia is a city in the agricultural region of the San Joaquin Valley of California, about 230 miles southeast of San Francisco, 190 miles north of Los Angeles, 36 miles west of Sequoia National Park, and 43 miles south of Fresno. The population was 134,605 as of 2019 by U.S. Census Bureau estimate.

Visalia, California, is the beating heart of the agriculture industry in the San Joaquin Valley. COS District 26 calls Visalia home. New Convention of States Volunteers, Rick Mangini and his wife, Susan hosted their first District 26 meeting in Visalia. Fifteen of their local friends and family members were invited to learn about Convention of States and Article V.

COS Regional Captain Glenn Clayton led the meeting via a zoom call. After introductions all around, he opened the meeting with a brief prayer. Glenn went on to welcome the attendees by introducing them to his COS perspective and expressing his passion towards identifying and educating COS Volunteers. He began with a background of COS and its mission to build a grassroots army prepared to reign in the government.

Glenn’s introduction was followed by Rick introducing a Prager University video by Jim DeMint on “How the States can Save America.”

After the film, Rick spoke to his guests about his thoughts regarding one of the COS platforms: Fiscal Restraints, “It makes no difference if you are a democrat, republican, or an independent. If you are an American, you must be concerned about our $29 TRILLION-dollar national debt. The problem is enormous, but there is a solution!” Rick declared, "The Article V solution.”

The attendees were impressed. A thirty-minute Q and A session followed.

“Our children will suffer if we don’t get this taken care of!” One of the attendees said.

With a smile, another person said, “This is the most hopeful thing I have heard in a long time!

The enthusiasm was mirrored by the 11 petitions signed, with 3 more to follow. Convention of States is a solution everyone can be hopeful about. Two of the attendees agreed to be volunteers as well.

What a great first meeting. As every journey begins with one small step, great organizations grow and become successful. It begins with meetings like this one.

Rick and Susan have bragging rights for the best start in District 26.

Their next meeting is scheduled for September 25, 2021, right here in their home. This will be followed by COS action meetings with Glenn on 10/02/2021 and then the Fresno County Fair on 10/08-09/2021 with Glenn Clayton at the Posey County Fair.

They have a big beautiful home that makes for a great setting to host a Convention of States meeting. You can do it too! No matter your available accommodations, there is always a way to make it work. Reach out to other team members who may live nearby or to your state leaders and have them help you to arrange your next meeting.
