For the second year, District Captain Rhonda Ruterbusch coordinated a team of volunteers to meet and greet visitors for four days of the Munger Potato Festival. The Munger Potato Festival is a 68-year-old tradition in Bay County, Michigan with car racing, amusements, a 5K run, and lots of potatoes.
With temps in the 90s and humidity at 90%, the team was happy to be stationed next to an ice cream stand!
We talked to people from all sides of the aisle – including a few who thought the country was doing just fine. We also had an engaging discussion with a young immigrant who supports the mission of Convention of States but is reluctant to sign anything – because he fears he is being watched because of his skin color.
In all, 61 people signed the petition and we recruited at least four new volunteers. They are eager to help us carry out the mission of Convention of States here in Michigan.
Have you signed the petition yet?
