While all of us at COS would love to share Thanksgiving dinner with all of our mighty grassroots army, it may be for the best that we can't.
The turkey, the potatoes, the stuffing...all of that tantalizing food would turn cold as we recited the seemingly endless reasons why we are so thankful for you.
So permit us to list a few here. We are thankful for you because...
You withstand sweltering sun, cold rain, snow and sleet to man tables and walk blocks and blocks that become miles and miles to engage with your fellow citizens to promote our cause and gather petition signers with patience, kindness, and intelligence.
You organize and engage in TelePatriot missions, write blogs and emails with great enthusiasm and talent.
You drive hundreds of miles across your states and regions to participate in statehouse surges, team meetings and events, and to campaign for candidates who support an Article V convention. You do those same things to advocate for legislation that reinforces liberty and civil rights.
You work hard to establish relationships with state representatives and senators -- and their aides -- to educate and find common ground in order to pass the COS resolution, prevent its expiration, or gather the growing number of legislative sponsors.
All of this and so much more comes at great expense to you. You give of your time. You give of your own treasure in any way that you can. You give of your own intellect and physical strength. You give of your heart and soul.
All of this you do with great cheer and infectious spirit; you are happy warriors for the freedom and limited government that was envisioned for us in Philadelphia in 1787.
All of this you do because you love your country, want the best for it, and the work that you do gets results.
All of this you do in the spirit of the Founders, who pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to establish this republic.
You are, as COSA president and co-founder Mark Meckler often says, serving the nation. You are a great blessing to us. While we never forget that, on this Thanksgiving we want to emphasize how much we love and care for you -- our family. Without you, there would be no movement.
For everything that you do in support of COS and to call an Article V convention and for everything that you are, we give our eternal and most grateful thanks.
