I was fortunate to attend the Patriot Academies Constitutional Handgun Defense course from Sept. 22 to Sept. 26, 2024. Before I moved from Louisiana, I had signed up with some Louisiana COS members who decided to take this course.
We arrived from various locations around the country on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2024. We unpacked at our motels or condos. Then, I met some team members at a pub in Fredericksburg, TX. We enjoyed seeing one another and catching up on everything in our lives. After Dinner, we all returned to our housing and prepared for the four-day course.
The course was four days of intensive training and tactics in the Texas heat. We had some classroom time, but the range time was extensive. Even though we were under a canopy, the Texas heat was oppressive. By the end of every day, we were exhausted.
The course and the instructors were at the top of the pyramid. They were safe and professional. During the course, they assisted us when we needed correction and improvement. The course made me a better defensive gun shooter. The four days were worth the cost. Today, I'm better prepared to respond safely and appropriately to a threat against me.
While we were at the Patriot Academy, COS Texas Regional Captains Henry, and Richard Bohnert came to dine with us for the two nights. Thanks for your support.
