Convention of States Action Maryland made their debut in the Silver Spring Thanksgiving Parade on Saturday, November 19. As many as 10,000 spectators came out to line the streets of Silver Spring for the parade.
We certainly saw thousands and they saw COS activists spreading the word of self-governance and offering THE solution as big as the problem.
The Thanksgiving Parade had a new float this year along with a baker's dozen self-governing activists. State Director Mike Rilee’s truck was decked out in COS regalia.
Despite the cold day with temperatures in the 30s, we had thirteen Article V hat-wearing warriors who marched through downtown Silver Spring. One volunteer noted that “It’s certainly not as cold as Valley Forge.”
The truck was decorated with banners and yard signs thanks to Mike’s ingenuity. The Comms Team created "The Convention is Coming" banner as well as hand-held signs.
Several people stopped us and asked questions about our mission. It was a fun and worthwhile event. Afterward, we shared a meal and discussed lessons learned for next year - The Convention is Coming!
May God's blessings be upon this beautiful country and her people!
