Celebrating the Dedication of the Colorado Convention of States Veterans

Published in Blog on January 02, 2025 by Yvette Kimmel

A Year of Hard Work and Commitment

As 2024 draws to a close, let’s pause and reflect on the incredible efforts and unwavering commitment of the Colorado Convention of States (CO COS) veterans. These dedicated individuals have poured their time, energy, and passion into promoting a cause to save our country from our growing, out-of-control government.

A Year of Tireless Effort

Throughout the year, the CO COS veterans have been on the frontlines, advocating for constitutional reform, and spreading awareness about calling an Article V convention. They have created a yearly event plan, including 18 different state and county fairs, festivals and expositions, all committed to one common goal: educating the public that we the people can affect change within our federal government. Once educated, many Coloradans elect to sign the petition, supporting the COS mission.

The CO COS Vets Team has signed over 3,000 petitioners since May of 2023.

At the 2024 State Fair 1,261 patriots signed the petition, up 20% from the 2023 State Fair.   About 500,000 people attended the Fair.

Resilience in the Face of Challenges

Like any movement, the Colorado Convention of States veterans have faced challenges and obstacles. The Colorado Legislature elected to not adopt the resolution in support of COS this year. The push will continue to educate our state’s highly unbalanced representation.

Volunteers also face the hardships of life.  Despite his wife’s very serious accident earlier this year, Pueblo volunteer Arnold Gonzales led the charge to acknowledge The CO Army National Guard’s support.

Logistical hurdles, short volunteer staffing, overcoming skepticism, or tackling the complexities of the political landscape, the veterans’ perseverance has been unwavering. It is this resilience that has allowed them to keep the momentum going, ensuring that the conversation about constitutional reform remains active and relevant.

In Conclusion: A Grateful Salute

As we reflect on the past year, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the veterans of the Colorado Convention of States. Their tireless dedication, passion, and commitment have made a lasting impact on the movement and our state. We look forward to seeing where their efforts will take us in the year to come, knowing that their hard work and determination will continue to inspire others to join the cause. Here's to a year of accomplishments and to the ongoing journey toward a brighter, more empowered future for all of Colorado.

Thank you, veterans, for your unwavering commitment to the cause!
