Are We Still the United States of America

Published in Blog on November 01, 2023 by LeRoy E Cossette

Antisemitism has been called the world’s oldest hatred. It is a tangible threat not only to Jews but also to the very fabric of our Constitutional Republic. As violence against Jews intensifies, the antisemitism that drives it is emanating from a host of sources: political, ethnic, and religious, on college campuses, in public debate, on social media, and across our Nation.

Along with all the falsehoods that the Jewish community must endure, they cannot even claim their own country as sovereign by far too many antisemitic groups around the world. While anti-Israel forces, throughout the Middle East, are constantly taking and threatening the lives of the citizens of Israel, Israel defending their country and its citizens is viewed as criminal with demands that they be sanctioned as the aggressor and oppressor.

On October 7, Israel was brutally attacked by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. Hamus began killing civilians in Israeli communities and attacking military bases. In a single day, more than 350 Israeli soldiers and police and more than 1,000 Israeli civilians were killed. Around 200 Israeli civilians and soldiers were taken as hostages to the Gaza Strip which included about 30 young children and 20 American citizens.

The day has been described as the bloodiest in Israel's history and the deadliest for Jews since the Holocaust.

As if Israeli citizens had not suffered enough, Israel’s greatest ally, America, witnessed its citizen’s hate-filled protests and intimidation of American Jewish citizens and support for the murderous and barbaric Hamus terrorists.

Protests by American citizens and politicians alike left a black mark on American history showing the complete ignorance and misinformed nature of this generation resulting from a failed federally funded education system that no longer teaches factual world history. An education system that constitutionally belongs to the sovereign states where parents can better control what is being taught or not taught to their children. A clear case of federal overreach requires rectification through an Amendment to the Constitution.

Cornell University antisemitic students went so far as to pursue Jewish students forcing them to flee in fear of their lives and several barracked themselves in a library while the mob tried to tear down the doors. A university receiving federal subsidies and students who receive financial aid and loans from the federal government. It is far past time that these taxpayer-funded giveaways are ended through an Amendment requiring restricted federal expenditures.

This is not who we were before the onslaught of the Marxist movement against our Constitutional Republic and its citizens. What has happened to the once tolerable and inclusive United States of America?

We are still Americans! We must do something to end this evil that has befallen our Nation of freedom and liberty for every citizen. It is time for all freedom-loving citizens to step out of their comfort zone and take a stand against this evil before it is too late. It is time for each of us to begin a constant flow of phone calls, letters, and emails to the members of state legislators demanding the convening of a Convention of States to propose amendments to restrict federal overreach and spending.
