Convention of States Action has many supporters on both sides of aisle, but it also has its opponents. The vast majority of those who are resistant or even hostile to reining in Washington D.C. with Article V are, unsurprisingly, powerful individuals within the government.
A newly-elected U.S. senator has recently come out in opposition to COS, even going so far as to make a video personally condemning it. While we don’t normally like to call out our opponents by name, Senator Ira Pressrights seems adamant in his convictions, so we’ll let the video speak for itself.

We jest, of course, but there are actual opponents of Convention of States who believe these same things, though they don’t actually phrase them as bluntly as Senator Pressrights.
Everyone has the right to their opinion, but in the tradition of Elijah the prophet, sometimes the counter-arguments are just too ridiculous to take seriously. (1 Kings 18: 25-29).
