Action Through Alienation

Published in Blog on November 01, 2022 by Will T. Zwart

Raise your hand if you trust your Congressman. Most people don't. Most people don't even know they have, at minimum, six representatives: two senators and one representative at both the state and federal levels, who are supposed to represent us. In fact, they take an oath to represent us, and you can bring a surety bond suit against them if they don't.

But the problem isn't that Congress isn't doing what they're told. Most public servants at both the state and national capitols will listen to and abide by their constituents' wishes if the lines of communication are open...but they're not. There's a breach between Congress and America: an alienation.

According to a study by Public Agenda, 1 in 3 Americans feel alienated from politics. They feel abandoned, uninformed, and disgruntled regarding the current state of the Republic. These people are not intentionally ignorant or apathetic. In fact, they are eager to get involved in the system and be active citizens.

Let us remember Proverbs 19:2:

"It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way."

The same Public Agenda study found that these alienated Americans were particularly enthusiastic about term limits for Congress (good!), but also killing the electoral college (bad!).

Without a doubt, hundreds of thousands of Americans are getting active in the Republic, but first they have to learn how it works. Unfortunately, that can be intimidating, especially when there are countless rules, bylaws, and regulations designed to discourage anyone but "the experts" from participating.

No wonder one third of the country feels like they're outside looking in! But that's where Convention of States enters the picture. Our mission is to build the largest grassroots army this nation has ever seen, and educate each and every one of the millions of Americans within our reach about the system the Founding Fathers created, especially about Article V.

The United States is ready for a change. Her citizens are ready to decide! Not on a change in policy, in platforms, or who's in office, but fixing the broken system itself. We're sick to death of being ostracized, belittled, pontificated, deceived, and more recently, oppressed, harassed, insulted, threatened, and all-around tyrannized! It's time for the corruption to end. It's time to reclaim our freedom.

We've been complaining about Washington D.C. for decades now, but nothing will change unless we take action! The Public Agenda study shows that people are ready and raring to do just that, because in spite of their alienation, these Americans are almost as likely to vote in the midterms as their non-alienated peers.

The Bottom Line: a large of swath of Americans are getting involved in politics for the first time in a long while, and they're not on the side of the overreaching federal behemoth that drove them to action through alienation.

You decide. It's your government, not theirs. Put this behemoth back in its box by signing the petition and getting involved with Convention of States!
