Last week, we went live on Facebook with the update that we had great turnout at the Cobb County GOP on Saturday and that the anti-COS resolution failed. Here are some highlights from the event!

30+ Convention of States Georgia Supporters Showed Up
Our numbers practically dwarfed the size of the Cobb County GOP building. Many of the members were curious and surprised at just how many people were standing outside the building when they arrived. Some appeared happy to see us exercise our First Amendment rights and to make new friends, while others shuffled in with heads bowed down as if they did not want to be seen in a rather pitiful manner.
We Were Locked Out of the Building---Along With Several Unfortunate GOP Members
According to what we were told, there were concerns about the fire marshal and building capacity. I believe the plan was to see if there would be enough room for us to sit after the GOP folks got inside. However, the door was locked, and we remained outside. We witnessed a couple stragglers to the GOP meeting afterwards trying to get in and not being able to; we felt a bit bad for them.
We Got to Meet Some of the Local Police
Apparently, our numbers had the Cobb GOP a little jumpy, so one of their number called the police on us. We are not sure if they were expecting Antifa or some Molotov-cocktail-chucking-anarchists, but our Grassroots Coordinator had a lovely conversation with one of the officers in which she introduced herself and assured him that it’s literally in our bylaws to be polite and respectful. If there were going to be any problems it would be coming from the GOP Republicans inside the building. Both of them got a good chuckle out of that.
We want to send a big thank-you to all the Convention of States supporters who showed up on May 29 at the Cobb GOP Headquarters at 9 am and to those who reached out to Cobb Republicans expressing their support of Convention of States. You all are amazing!
