What help is available from the Convention of States Missouri Team?

COS Missouri Capitol Surge, January, 2020

How can we help?

The Convention of States Missouri team is comprised of volunteers who reside within our state and who have volunteered their time and talents to help us achieve our goal of calling a convention of the states and our mission of developing the largest, strongest, most educated grassroots army of self-governing Americans in our history.

Whether you have just joined us as a supporter or you are an 'old-timer' (8 years and counting) the Convention of States Missouri team is here to help you learn and grow in your knowledge of your government and how to influence it effectively.

First of all, we suggest that you also bookmark our Missouri Information Page. This page has numerous resources which can help you learn about and get involved in your government.

We also suggest that you confirm your email account on our website so that you can make changes to your account and take the free COS University courses.

If you choose not to confirm your email account at this time but have a question, a problem or a change such as new email, phone or address, please use the form below to reach out to the Missouri team. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

How can you help?

  • Share our Missouri Information Page with friends and family in Missouri and our national website with everyone.
  • Use the form above to let the Convention of States Missouri team of opportunities where we can spread the news about our progress and plans.
  • Take advantage of the learning opportunities we offer so that you will have a better understanding of how the amendment process works. This knowledge will help you in the future to communicate your wishes and opinions: 1) to your representatives in Jefferson City regarding the instructions which will be given to the Missouri commissioners to the convention; 2) to your representatives in Jefferson City regarding the proposed amendments to be ratified; and 3) to your representatives in Washington, D.C. regarding the laws which will be developed in order to put the ratified amendments into effect.

As you can see, we have a long journey ahead of us. Let's hit the road!

Physicians for COS

The diagnosis is clear.

We have a growing cancer today known as the Obamacare. As a result physicians are no longer free to practice medicine.

No profession feels the full force of the federal government more than physicians. The medical profession is the most highly regulated profession in the United States. The practice of medicine is controlled, taxed, and regulated to the point of being destroyed by the heavy hand of the federal government.

Physicians are told how to bill, how much to charge, and how to treat patients. They are mandated to use expensive electronic medical records. The federally enacted HIPPA (Health Information Privacy and Portability Act) makes the communication between physicians and atients burdensome, inefficient, and expensive. Every physician is required by federal mandate to register with the government to obtain an NPI (national provider identifier.) We are required by federal law to obtain and pay for a license to prescribe medication through the DEA, which is separate from our state licensure.

This heavy hand of government not only oversees the largest federal health bureaucracy ever created, but by extension reaches into every state, every city, and every small town to regulate how every licensed physician practices the art of medicine and how citizens obtain care.

The treatment is also clear.

The prescription for a cure was written into our constitution by our founders. Article V of our constitution allows for the states to call for a convention of states to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government through the proposal of constitutional amendments. Physicians should be the strongest supporters of this brilliantly-crafted states’ rights tool placed into our constitution by our founders.

I urge my fellow American physicians to join with me in supporting an Article V Convention of States to take back control of the practice of medicine. It’s the only way that we can return the practice of medicine back to the intimate relationship between a doctor and patient without interference by the heavy hand of a distant, national government.
