James M. Brayshaw Jr. Memorial

It is my honor to present to you the memory of my favorite American patriot and veteran. My Father; Commander James M. Brayshaw Jr.

My father’s proudest achievement was being an aviator for the United States Navy…He loved to fly…He flew many planes in the service of his country and flew for pleasure after that, to which I was a very willing partner.  I always felt safe with my father, and in fact recently came across his  Navy flight log 1949-52 in which his commanding officer had recorded “no incidents” during all carrier landings, confirming what I had heard about him. That he could land on a postage stamp.

My father was extremely proud to be an American and always discussed what it meant and the duties that accompanied the honor. So intentional was his appreciation for his country that when writing notes on his life for his own obituary, he had written his name and identity as “An American from 18 June 1928 to _________ and had left it blank. We can now say that he was an American from 18 June 1928 to 10 December 2018. He passed in Orange County CA having lived in Pasadena CA for 62 years and raised in Weymouth MA.

Dad was a retired Naval Commanding Officer; Naval Aviator and Naval Flight Instructor, serving The Korean War, The Cold War, and Commanding Officer of the Air Weapons Group. He was a Civil Air Patrol Officer; He was a graduate of Mass. Institute of Technology and an Aerospace Engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory CA 1957-1989  where his projects included The Explorer, The Mariner’s , Pioneer, Voyager, Viking, Magellan, and Galileo ); After retirement he attended UCLA and received a teaching credential for the purpose of educating new citizens in English and the American way. He LOVED Barbershop Quartet Singing and playing rag time piano Jazz. He loved Bing Cosby the most and his memory of the greatest songs ever written was like an encyclopedia.

As a dedicated and proud American Dad inspired many with his intellectual understanding of what would be needed to right our ship of state. He always encouraged reading, debate, and written history. He was a tough as nails honest man. He served on many political campaigns in his lifetime and was especially proud of Rush Limbaugh for helping to usher in truth, reason, and American patriot Donald Trump. Dad was very proud of his education in Weymouth Mass and mind you, those were the days prior to John Dewey and the establishment of the US Dept of Ed.

Seeing the big picture and need to right our American ship, Dad entrusted the Convention of States Action to educate on the Constitutional action necessary.

On his commemorative wall and to inspire current or inspiring members of the US Military, Cmdr. James added shortly before his passing that “protection of country is a citizen’s duty”.

Proud and lovingly written by his daughter,

Ardyce May Brayshaw Kehiayan

Physicians for COS

The diagnosis is clear.

We have a growing cancer today known as the Obamacare. As a result physicians are no longer free to practice medicine.

No profession feels the full force of the federal government more than physicians. The medical profession is the most highly regulated profession in the United States. The practice of medicine is controlled, taxed, and regulated to the point of being destroyed by the heavy hand of the federal government.

Physicians are told how to bill, how much to charge, and how to treat patients. They are mandated to use expensive electronic medical records. The federally enacted HIPPA (Health Information Privacy and Portability Act) makes the communication between physicians and atients burdensome, inefficient, and expensive. Every physician is required by federal mandate to register with the government to obtain an NPI (national provider identifier.) We are required by federal law to obtain and pay for a license to prescribe medication through the DEA, which is separate from our state licensure.

This heavy hand of government not only oversees the largest federal health bureaucracy ever created, but by extension reaches into every state, every city, and every small town to regulate how every licensed physician practices the art of medicine and how citizens obtain care.

The treatment is also clear.

The prescription for a cure was written into our constitution by our founders. Article V of our constitution allows for the states to call for a convention of states to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government through the proposal of constitutional amendments. Physicians should be the strongest supporters of this brilliantly-crafted states’ rights tool placed into our constitution by our founders.

I urge my fellow American physicians to join with me in supporting an Article V Convention of States to take back control of the practice of medicine. It’s the only way that we can return the practice of medicine back to the intimate relationship between a doctor and patient without interference by the heavy hand of a distant, national government.
