The irony is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
After unleashing a deadly, life-altering virus on the world, the Chinese government has taken American taxpayer dollars as part of the Paycheck Protection Program. Chinese-owned companies affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party received millions in COVID-19 aid funded by the American people.
The Epoch Times reports:
Hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars went to Chinese companies from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which was designed to help small businesses survive during the pandemic, according to a new report.
A review of public PPP loan data by consultancy firm Horizon Advisory found that $192 million to $419 million in loans were given to more than 125 Chinese-owned or -invested companies operating in the United States. Many of the loans were substantial, with at least 32 Chinese-owned firms receiving more than $1 million under the program, totaling between $85 million and $180 million, it found.
The recipients included Chinese state-owned enterprises, companies that supported Beijing’s military development program, firms identified by the United States as national security threats, and media outlets controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the report said. Many were based in critical industries such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductor manufacturing. These are sectors that the CCP has slated for aggressive development to achieve global dominance, with the goal of supplanting competitors in the United States and other countries.
The country is $26 trillion in debt, and we're sending millions of taxpayer dollars to China? That money is supposed to be used to protect American businesses, employees, and citizens. Instead, due to the incompetence and negligence of federal bureaucrats, it's going to prop up one of the most corrupt and repressive regimes in the world.
Enough is enough. If Congress won't take its oversight duties seriously, the American people will strip them of those duties. Federal politicians will never vote to limit their own power or spending, but We the People can do it with a Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments that limit Washington's power, influence, and spending. These amendments can force Congress to care about how they spend our money by mandating a balanced budget, limiting spending, and capping taxation.
With this complete package of amendments in place, Congress will have no choice but to stop throwing money away on useless, duplicative, and dangerous government programs and take a real interest in how our money is being spent.
