Millions of Americans across the country have lost their jobs, homes, and businesses as a direct result of the tyrannical COVID-19 lockdowns. Many of these lockdowns were recommended by federal bureaucrats and "experts" issuing guidance to state and local governments, which imposed curfews, closed businesses, and forced Americans to stay at home.
Now, while We the People suffer, those bureaucrats and experts are receiving a pay raise. President Trump just signed an executive order giving all federal employees a 1% pay raise. The raise is lower than the other raises he's given federal workers in previous years (1.9%, 1.9%, and 3.1%), but it's still 1% more than most Americans are receiving right now.
Our country is $23 trillion in debt, and that number will rise astronomically as the COVID-19 relief is factored in. This year, raises for federal employees should have been off the table. They should have been forced to suffer alongside the American people, who, if they've been lucky enough to keep their jobs, have received a pay cut. Instead, federal employees are bringing home even more money on the backs of American taxpayers.
Enough is enough. Our "betters" in D.C. need to learn that they exist only at our behest. We pay their salaries, and they're in Washington to serve us. This year, they shouldn't get a pay raise -- in fact, they should get a pay cut.
Bureaucrats will never move to reduce their salaries, of course, and Congress is so beholden to The Swamp that they won't move to shrink federal salaries, either. That's why We the People must act, and we can do it with an Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments. These amendments can limit the size, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government -- including federal employees and agencies. Amendments might include caps on federal salaries, limits on federal spending, and a requirement to balance the budget every year.
There is no better way to remind federal employees who they work for and get our nation's finances under control. That way, the next time our country undergoes a crisis, we'll have enough money to help the American people rather than pad the pockets of federal bureaucrats.
To get involved, sign the petition below! Fifteen states have passed the Convention of States Resolution and over 4 million Americans have voiced their support.
