We saw these vaccine mandates coming, and now we must FIGHT BACK

Published in Blog on September 10, 2021 by Article V Patriot

We knew President Joe Biden was an authoritarian at heart. Back in August, Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler predicted that Biden would impose a vaccine mandate in three ways: through OSHA, through Medicare, and through the school system.

Just a few weeks later, that's exactly what King Biden has done.

The president's new vaccine mandate is one of the most egregious instances of federal overreach we've ever seen.

With one stroke of his pen, he's inserted the federal government into the lives of millions of Americans and destroyed the freedoms of thousands of businesses. His actions are unconstitutional, tyrannical, and dangerous. If the federal government can use the deep state to force businesses to impose vaccine mandates, what's next?

Will the federal government force private businesses to fund abortions, prohibit gun ownership, or preach progressive sexual ideologies? Will they force private businesses to mandate that their employees undergo radical Critical Race Theory training? Will they force private businesses to prohibit their employees from attending religious services that preach against radical leftism?

Radical progressive thinking can justify federal mandates for each of the above examples. Right now, nothing is standing between Biden and any of these mandates. He has more than three years to impose them, and Congress can't do anything about it.

How did we get here?

It's actually pretty simple. First, the peoples' representatives in Congress have abdicated their duty to executive branch agencies. Rather than do their job and pass the laws governing workplace safety, they've given that authority to the bureaucrats at the Labor Department. These bureaucrats aren't beholden to the people--they're beholden to the President. They have the power to create "policies" that have the force of law, and Congress can't stop them.

Second, the Supreme Court has issued bad decisions that have massively expanded the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government. Who gave the federal government--whether Congress or the deep state--the power to regulate private businesses? The Supreme Court. Healthcare mandates aren't anywhere in the Constitution, but thanks to the Supreme Court, the federal government can regulate virtually every area of American life.

We must fight back, tooth and nail, against this tyranny. In the short term, we must support businesses that resist and state governors that take the Biden administration to court. But there is only one long-term solution that can address both of the issues above: a Convention of States.

A Convention of States can propose constitutional amendments that get our nation back to its founding structure. It can propose amendments that clarify that Congress--and only Congress--can create laws. It can undo the last century of activist Supreme Court decisions by getting the feds out of healthcare, education, energy, and the environment. It can limit the power and jurisdiction of executive branch and shrink the size and authority of the deep state.

If we do nothing, presidents of both parties will continue to expand their power until we no longer live in a republic. In this monarchy, the president will have the power to impose whatever mandates he wants, and We the People won't be able to stop him.

We can't let that happen. We have the power to stop federal overreach, restore the balance of power between Washington and the people, and get our nation back to its founding structure. That power lies in an Article V Convention of States--we must use it before it's too late.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
